Friday Favorites

Happy Friday! Thanks for stopping by as I link up with three of my favorite bloggers, Erika, Narci, and Andrea to share some of my favorites of the week. If you're new here, make sure to say hi in the comments and follow me on Facebook, Pinterest, and Bloglovin'. And if you didn't check out the 3 things I can't live without from Tuesday's post, check it out HERE.

I'm sure some of you are pretty sick of hearing about all things KISS-related thanks to my Roo, but this article with Gene Simmons was recently featured in the LA Times, and I thought it was really interesting. Robert and I are teetotalers, so I am always fascinated to find out which celebrities abstain from alcohol too. Gene's reason is a lovely tribute and a great reminder that we shouldn't judge a book by it's cover.

I watch EVERY Real Housewives franchise. I feel your judgment, and I'm okay with it! Some people love Game of Thrones or Harry Potter. Reality t.v. is my version of fantasy. I will never have a life like these women I watch on t.v., and half the time, they make me feel better about myself! One of my favorite housewives is Chyka Keebaugh of The Real Housewives of Melbourne. She is always impeccably dressed, throws amazing events, and is just a real class act. I'm sad to hear that she'll be leaving the show, but you can keep up with her on her gorgeous blog HERE.

I struck out with finding a rug for the front foyer this summer, but I did check off finding a side table and lamp for "my side" of the couch. I scored this table at Target for under $30 and the tree branch lamp with shade at Home Goods for $30. Add a pumpkin spice or tobacco candle, and I'm good to go!

Finally, I love that my Doodle loves to watch cooking shows with me. He usually loves The Pioneer Woman, but lately, he also asks to throw on Barefoot Contessa. Trip's even at the point where he talks about Jeffrey like they're friends. #don'tknowwherehegetsthatfrom

Who is your favorite cook to watch on Food Network? Tell me in the comments below! Have an awesome weekend, and I'll see you back here on Monday for Life With the Lees!

    1. Thanks for stopping by! Your blog is great! Love that plaid dress! My husband decided to become a teacher too a few years ago and totally dashed my dreams of being on a Real Housewives of Houston edition one day!

  2. I DVR The Pioneer Woman so that I never miss an episode. I have been following her blog since the very beginning! I also like Giada and Barefoot Contessa, and have occasionally watched Valerie B. (can't think of the name of her show or if that's even her last name any more!) just because she's fun and I flash back to One Day at a Time. Oh, and Trisha Yearwood always has good side stories/special guests on her show.

    1. Thanks for stopping by! My mom is turned off by Ree's personality and refuses to like anything Pioneer Woman, so I always serve her something that she loves and then break the news that it's a PW recipe! I'm kind of the same way though about Giada- something about her just turns me off. Trisha is great, too and I love Garth Brooks!

  3. Reading the above comment about The Pioneer Woman... haha! I LOVE her but I agree that she's a little awkward on the show. My theory is that she's better in person and writing and maybe just doesn't thrive in front of the cameras, haha!

    1. I've noticed the past few re-run episodes, she lets the teenagers go into town to buy all of the party decorations. It's adorable how she thinks what the kids put together looks so great, but I'm dying inside! Thank goodness she hired a team for her mercantile!
