Life With the Lees: Weekend Recap 9.12.16

Happy Monday! We had quite a delicious weekend- how about you?

We were supposed to have a beef stir fry on Friday night, but the round top steaks that the recipe called for smelled awful, and I just couldn't bring myself to make it. So we opted for some Popeye's and Snapchatting on the couch!

Typical day in my life- I'm smiling and somebody is starting a pillow fight!

Saturday morning, Roo and I met up with Ms. Rebecca at Vintage Park.

We perused some shops and then hit up Torchy's Tacos. I had stayed away from Torchy's because the two locations I had been by were always packed, and I assumed they would be expensive since they were an Austin staple. We were served quickly, the food was delicious, and it was less than $4 a taco. Win, win, win!

In 2015, Buddy Valastro had a show on TLC called Bakery Boss where he'd go and help bakeries reorganize their menus and such. One of the bakeries he went to was Drew's Pastry Place, and I remember Buddy being very impressed by Drew's cannolis. We have been meaning to get out there for some time now, so Ari and I stopped in with Rebecca after lunch. The pricing was great, the treats were authentic Italian, and as a bonus, we got to meet and chat with Drew. He was so friendly and welcoming- we will definitely be back!

The boys enjoyed a trip to College Station on Saturday to cheer on our Aggies!

I caught up on some shows and had to snap a pic of three of my favorite guys (other than my husband!) Andy had Chris Noth and Harry Connick, Jr. on Watch What Happens Live this week. If you can search for this episode on demand, look for it! They were such a fun trio, and I'm going to try Harry's new talk show this week!

On Saturday night, we went to the Boardwalk at Towne Lake and tried Sam's Boat. We were excited for some seafood. Sadly, my food was awful. Flavorless oysters and fries, and to top it off, I found someone's hair fried into my food! Management gave us our meal for free and a coupon for a free appetizer for the next time, but we won't be back.

Robert let the kids run around on the grassy area of the boardwalk while I stopped into a store that I have been anxiously awaiting- The Royal Standard. It was worth the wait! I scored a dress, top, and shorts from their end of summer sale for a total of $16! The store is so pretty and has lots of goodies for your home and closet, as well as lots of items to gift.

I hope you have a great week! Join me back here on Wednesday when I'm linking up for Stranded with Erika and Shay. See you soon!
