Show and Tell Tuesday: Halloween

Hi all! I'm linking up with Andrea from Momfessionals for today's Show and Tell Tuesday. You should link up and join us! Thanks for stopping by today- please say hello in the comments below!

Today I'm sharing my love for Halloween costumes. Apparently it's a family thing because my Nana and Popo were always dressing up! I have a love/hate relationship with costumes though. I LOVE planning out what I/we will be, but I HATE making costumes!

Here's Robert and me (just pregnant with Trip) in 2008 as hippies.

In 2009, we added one more to the crew - Superbaby! Robert and I wore our high school t-shirts and went as teen parents. (Not the most well-received costume, but we had fun!)

In 2010 aka our last year of picking Trip's costume for him, we dressed him up as Slash from Guns N' Roses, and Robert and I dressed up as Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne. This was definitely one of my favorite family costumes!

In 2011, Trip wanted to be a dinosaur, Triplesaurus! He wore the costume every day leading up to Halloween and every day after, but on the actual day of, he REFUSED to wear it! Apparently, Robert and I had more fun trick-or-treating as ZZ Top than Trip!

In 2012, we did another family costume and even added my friend Rachel to our group- The Avengers! Trip got a store-bought Iron Man costume, I went as Thor, Robert was Hulk, I made Ari's costume to be Captain Aurelia/America, and Rachel came as the Black Widow. We didn't get good pictures AT ALL that night!

2013 was easy and fun! Trip and Ari dressed up as characters from Monsters Inc. Trip was Sulley with a Mike candy bucket, and Ari went as Boo!

I LOVED this next costume! Robert and I went as Prince's Greatest Hits: "Purple Rain," "Little Red Corvette," "1999," "Raspberry Beret," "Kiss," and "When Doves Cry."

In 2014, Ari went as Lilo AND Stitch! I thought she was too cute!

Trip went as a Wild Kratt from the PBS show. This costume was SO easy to make, and he really liked it. We even did glow in the dark paint on it!

Robert and I went as Father Mulcahy and Hot Lips Houlihan from the t.v. show M.A.S.H. Again, another super easy costume!

Last year was another fun and easy year! Ari wanted to go as Marshall from the t.v. show Paw Patrol, so she got an easy store-bought costume. Cutest little dalmatian pup you'll ever see!

Trip wanted to be a wrestler. He had never seen a minute of WWE but had watched a Scooby Doo movie with John Cena, so that's what he picked! Half-way through the night, he asked if he could take off the wrestling belt since it was bothering him. I happily obliged until my friend pointed out that all the people answering doors were probably thinking he was dressed up as a thug instead of a wrestler! Whoops! #momfail

Robert and I went as Dr. Grant and Dr. Ellie from Jurassic Park. This was an easy costume but fairly expensive as we had to buy many parts from Amazon. We also had to explain this one to a lot of people, too, but I think we looked great, and we had a lot of fun!

This year, we're going as a family costume and giving into our 4 year old's every wish! Let's just say I'm a little stressed out about Halloween being on a Monday! Thanks for stopping by today- come back on Thursday for my Try It Thursday link-up. I'm sharing a great pasta recipe - it's so good that we don't even make pasta dishes with marinara anymore! See you soon!

  1. Love your costumes!! So creative :)

    1. Thanks! Sometimes I wish my brain would think more inside the box and make our lives easier! I'm super procrastinating this year- hope we all are clothed on the 31st!

  2. Love them!! My 6 yr old is obsessed with John Cena!!

    1. Thanks! We tried watching some wrestling and it's just not the same as it was in the 90s! John Cena seems like a really good person in real life.

  3. I know what you're going to be!!!!!

    1. Ha! I don't know how in the world you would! :) What are you and Jerry going to be?

Hi friends! Let me know what you think! I'd love to hear from you!
