Today, it's all about New Year's resolutions. I have four completely different goals for 2017:
1) Floss every day.
I did so well with this goal for the first four months of last year and then fell out of it. I'm determined to stick with it for all 365 days in 2017! THESE flossers from Dentek are my absolute favorite.
2) Keep blogging.
I've been blogging since July of last year, and there were definitely days where I was ready to quit. On link-up days, I'd get so excited that over 100 people actually looked at my page, and then I'd have days where 5 people viewed my site! Sometimes, it's completely frustrating that more people that I've never met before read my piece of the internet than my own friends and family. BUT, I'm also so grateful for all of you that I've never met in person! There are several of you who have encouraged me and motivated me to keep going, so thank you so much for that. And that's what I love about this blogging community- we all keep each other going, even when the times get tough!
I'm excited to continue hosting my Thursday recipe link-ups: Try It Thursday. Please join me and visit the linked bloggers, too!
And if you hate the gym and don't want to exercise for hours on end, check in with me on Tuesdays for a new series called Tuesday Training.
Don't forget to join me and the girls over at Moms' Coffee Date for our monthly link-up. We link-up on the 3rd Thursday of the month, so next Thursday, we want to hear about your best organizational or cleaning tips!
3) Set up a date day/night schedule with the kids.
I work an hour away from our home, and it's bothersome that I don't get home until around 5 p.m. It would be nice to settle down and hang out with the kids after school, but there's always a practice to get to or a test to study for, and so our time together isn't the quality I'd like for it to be. I'd like to set up a day each month where one kid gets 100% of Robert's and my attention for a few hours. We do so much together as a family that I think it would be nice to have more time with each kid individually.
Some ideas I have are: roller skating, bowling, going to a science experiment place, visiting a museum, practicing at the rifle range (Trip is a fantastic marksman but only gets to practice when he goes to ranch), painting at a pottery place, going to get a pedicure, and taking a cooking/baking class together. What are some of your favorite kid dates? Tell me in the comments please!
4) Be more polished in my appearance
Most mornings, I'm exhausted. My colitis is currently not in remission, so I wake up sick most days and have to take care of myself vs. spending time in front of the mirror. It also doesn't help that I was blessed with some of the worst hair in the world - my stylist can attest to this! It's easy for me to throw my hair in a ponytail and wear exercise clothes all weekend. I know that I definitely feel my best when I look my best, so I'm going to push myself to take more pride in my appearance.
Thanks for joining me today! Leave me some love in the comments below, and I hope you'll link-up with me tomorrow for my Try It Thursday recipe link-up party! See you soon!
