Just a quick note before I share my favorites: I truly apologize if you happened to see an obscene and horribly disgusting comment left by an anonymous person the other day. I had always kept the comment moderation off because I think it allows for readers to visit other blogs that they might be interested in. Unfortunately, I have decided to turn on the comment moderation and will do my best to get comments published as quickly as I can. So sorry about that!
All right, onto the fun stuff!
We are wrapping up our religions of the Middle East unit in my class, and last year, I found the IMAX and National Geographic film, Jerusalem. It is a great film that showcases three teen girls: one who is Jewish, one who is Christian, and one who is Muslim. They take you on a tour of the sights that are considered holy to their religion and you get a lot of background on why this city is so important to so many people. I'm not religious and still could appreciate the history and culture presented in the film. I'd definitely recommend it if you want to know more about the city from either a religious or historical view. You can watch the trailer HERE.
2) Gerry Brooks
Gerry Brooks is a principal at a school in the south. He has a YouTube channel where he shares hilarious suggestions for things like presents to give to teachers like Jars of Love, Google Teacher Translate to help teachers write notes home to parents, and even how to keep bears away from schools now that Betsy DeVos has brought us so much insight on this danger! Check out his channel, and be prepared to laugh until you cry!
3) Game Night
Everyone in my family had so much fun at our first game night with our friends last weekend! The next day, little Roo even said, "Last night was such a good time!" If you've got some great pals, start up a monthly game night- you're sure to have lots of cheap fun!
4) Garnier Fructis
I'm pretty sure the Guinness Book has a spot saved for me with the title, "World's Worst Hair!" I have at least 4 different textures going on, and I've tried EVERY hair product known to man with no success. Recently, I spotted Garnier Fructis Smooth Air Dry at the store and decided to try it out. Not only does it tame my craziness, it's under $4! I am in love! Garnier also makes a Smooth Blow Dry cream that I may try out, too. If you've been looking to fight your frizz, definitely give this a shot!
5) Havana Oak
Havana Oak candle! It's a lighter version, like the spring-time cousin of the Weathered Oak candle. Don't forget to check your Cartwheel app- these go on sale a lot!
