Friday Favorites

Happy Friday! Thanks for joining me today as I share some of my favorites from the week! I'm pretty proud of myself for declining the Girl Scout cookies for the 3rd year in a row! Otherwise...

1) Trisha's Southern Kitchen

We changed up cable providers recently, so when I had to program the new DVR, I decided to record Trisha Yearwood's show to give it a try. Just like Ree Drummond's food, I'm pretty sure none of it is good for you, but it looks so darn good! Speaking of, there was even an episode of the two together! I haven't tried any of her actual recipes, but Trisha did teach me how to make eggs in the microwave which I've been doing the past 2 weeks for breakfast tacos. I've pinned some recipes, and I'll let you know how they turn out. Have you tried any of Trisha's recipes? Tell me about them in the comments!

2) BCG Running Hat

8 more days until my 5K, and then I get to retire from running for another 9 months! I picked up THIS hat at Academy a few weeks ago, and it has been great during my runs. I don't have to worry about pushing hair out of my face like I do with my headbands. Robert says I look like a barista at Starbucks, but I think it's cute!

3) Aussie 3 Minute Miracle

Last week, I shared that Garnier Fructis Smooth Air Dry is my new go-to to tame my frizz. Franziska recommended THIS deep conditioning treatment from Aussie. It's less than $3, and I use it on Ari's hair once a week. It definitely helps keep her hair smooth. I try to use it on her the day before dance class and then it will manage her tresses for class the next day.

4) Old Navy dress

I used some Old Navy super cash last weekend, but I sadly left THIS dress behind since it wasn't on sale. Going to be watching the site like a hawk so I can pay under $20 for it! I LOVE the color on me and can easily wear it well into summer.

5) Valentine's Day treats

We don't go nuts on gifts for each other or the kids. I picked up some stickers that were 50% off at Hobby Lobby, a chocolate box, and Ghiradelli strawberry chocolates for the kids. What do you give to your kids and significant other for Valentine's Day? Share in the comments below!

    1. Hope they help! My hair looked so pretty last night when I let it air dry with the Garnier and then of course I ruined it by sleeping! :)

  2. I went in to Target this week to get my 8 year old valentines for her party at school- that should probably cost no more than $20 right? I walked out....$150 later....happens...every ....single....time :)

    1. I have a problem where I eavesdrop on people at Target when they're looking for stuff and then point them in the right direction since I have that place MEMORIZED!

  3. Trisha is one of my current faves on Food Network (along with Ree) but her recipes are amazing. I have tried several and none have ever let me down; most recently her Kale Soup. It is easy and tasty and was a hit with the hubby too.
Also, I have that same hat and it has become my go to running/bad hair day head gear. Love it!

  6. Okay, I literally LOL'd when I saw the cat meme😂 I record both Trisha and Ree and I saw that episode of them together too. I wear a Nike hat very similar to your black one whenever I'm out walking or in the sun for an extended period of time to protect my hair and face from the sun. I'm sure you'll be able to get that cute dress soon. Thankfully Old Navy has sales A LOT. I never buy ANYTHING there unless it's on sale and I love all the little swing dresses they carry. That blue is a good color for me too. Question...how on Earth do you get linked at the top on these? I'm thinking it's because I'm on PST that I miss the boat on that? If you know of a trick, please share😉

    1. I have saved a lot on Ibotta so I may use that money for an Old Navy gift card and just go ahead and buy it before they run out! I'm up when their link-ups start, so yes, it definitely is hard since you're 2 hours behind us. You have me AND my hubby HOOKED on Shopkick! It's become a game to us! :)

  7. I don't have a significant other, so I don't really do much for Valentine's Day. I did make a card and got a fun gift for a friend of mine for Galentine's Day though! I think she'll enjoy it.

Glad you had a nice week!

    1. The sweet girl down the street came to sell to us and Robert told her I had already bought some! I wish he told her the truth so she doesn't try to hit me up next year if I'm feeling weak!
