Friday Favorites

Whew! What a week! So glad we made it through! Thanks for joining me today as I share some of my favorites!

1) Successful Sundays

Image from New Darlings

I'm not always the best at reading through my Bloglovin' emails, but this past weekend, I sat down and read through some of the recommended posts. THIS post from Camille Styles was intriguing. She highlights the Sunday night habits of people who set up their week successfully. I do most of these already, but I like the idea of cleaning out your purse every Sunday. I think I'm going to add that to my list, along with my car. It'll be nice to have everything cleaned up and packed up for the week ahead. What do you do to set up your work week?

2) Old Navy dress

My waiting paid off, and THIS dress that I was craving went on sale for under $15! I got it in the mail on Tuesday and am SO happy to have it for spring and summer! If you love it too, keep checking back on Old Navy's site- it's sure to be on sale again this season.

3) Long Island Medium

I absolutely love Theresa Caputo a.k.a. "The Long Island Medium." She and Larry have an adorable relationship, and I love that she is able to use her gift to help people who have been left with lots of questions or guilt. If you think mediums are a total hoax or they go against your religious beliefs, then this show isn't for you, but if you're open to the idea of a medium, I think you'll really like this show!

4) Revlon Eyeshadow

So, if you read my Ladies Who Link makeup post last week, you know that I'm an eyeshadow-holic! I had a grocery store coupon and had been craving some lime sparkle a la my middle school days, so I picked up a Revlon PhotoReady Primer, Shadow, and Sparkle palette in "Pop Art." The colors are really rich, and the sparkle adds a fun pop! If you're adventurous, try it out!

5) Dentist = spa?

Am I the only mom who loves to go to the dentist? 20 minutes where nobody can ask me to help them open a snack, play a game, or help them find something is basically the equivalent of a spa day for me! Sorry, bad mom! We started at a new dentist on Monday, and we had a great experience. My New Year's resolutions have been paying off! :)

  1. Well I wouldn't say I love the dentist but I don't mind going too much anymore. Of course for the reasons you listed! I need a purse to clean out, I just carry a clutch! I'm glad you had a good week, gorgeous! Now go rock your Friday :)

    1. I'm so happy to be done with diaper bags and have been trying to carry much smaller purses, but even then, I still manage to lose something (if not my mind!) Happy weekend!

  2. I love getting everything ready for the work week ahead of time! I iron/steam all of my clothes on Sunday and meal plan what we're going to have for the week. Love the color of your dress!

    1. Oh girl, that ship sailed a long time ago in my house! If my clothes can't iron themselves, then I can't wear them at all! LOL! Have fun at your dance!

  3. I feel the same way about jury duty as you do the dentist. A whole day to sit back with a book and headphones!! They almost never call your number anyway.

    1. Oh no! I've only gone once, and since I'm a teacher, I got picked and had to stay until after 7:30 pm!

  4. The only thing I hate about the dentist is that I'm totally cornered when asked if I've been flossing..."Why, yes I have been! For the past two days at least!" :) Have great weekend, Allie!

    1. Haha! I learned some interesting things from this new dentist- they can tell what side you sleep on based on something in your mouth and what not.

  5. I can't go to the dentist without being medicated, and that's just for a cleaning. I HATE IT! Loved that Sun post, too, and I just started watching LI Medium this past weekend-thought it was great!

    1. Aw, sorry to hear that! I must've had too much work done as a kid that it doesn't bother me now. Love Theresa and Larry so much!

    1. :) Now if they could give you a pedicure or manicure at the same time, that'd be awesome!

  7. We canceled cable last year and the one show I really miss is Long Island Medium! I'll have to see if I can get some episodes online!

    1. Bummer! I have been so busy that I haven't gotten to sit down and watch my shows, but I can guarantee there will be a Theresa and Larry marathon soon!
