Friday Favorites

Hey there! Happy Friday, and if you celebrate St. Patrick's Day, then I hope you've got your green on! My spring break is coming to an end, and we are planning on savoring our final moments of freedom this weekend. I still feel fairly new to blogging, but I've been reading blogs for years. Today, I thought it would be fun to share my 5 favorite bloggers that I've been reading for the past few years and who helped inspire me to start blogging myself.

1) Franish

Franziska is a medical student soon to be full on M.D. who shares everything from fashion, fitness, recipes, medical randomness, and day in the life posts. She also just got engaged, so it's fun to see her plan for her future wedding! I especially love her Sunday posts where she answers reader questions, shares throwbacks, and features posts from fellow bloggers. Check out her blog, Franish HERE

2) The Larson Lingo

If you love to cook, bake, or party plan, you need to leave here immediately and head on over to meet Mel! She's a teacher and mom in California, and I want her to adopt me and cook me dinner and dessert every night! Oh who am I kidding, I want her to make my breakfast, too! My family loves her recipes, and her kids' birthday parties are always so adorable. Check out her blog, The Larson Lingo HERE

3) Honey We're Home

Megan is a fashion, home, and fitness blogger here in Houston. I found her through other bloggers, and while I've given up on some of those original bloggers, I've stuck with Megan because she's authentic. Her home is beautiful, and I love when she posts holiday decorations. I will never be able to afford the Nordstrom clothes that she wears, but she shares outfits that I can recreate using what I've already got in my closet. Check out her blog, Honey We're Home HERE

4) Nine Thirty to Five

Karen and Paloma had popped up in my Pinterest pins a few years ago, and other bloggers I read linked to them as well. They're lawyers in California, and I find they share a lot of outfits that I can recreate for teaching here in Texas. Check out their blog, Nine Thirty to Five HERE.

5) Outfit Posts

I think I found MK on Pinterest around the same time that I found the ladies of Nine Thirty to Five when I was browsing work outfits. I love her style, and I appreciate the fact that she doesn't spend a gazillion dollars on her clothes and very rarely features pieces that are c/o a company that wants the free advertisement. MK lives in Florida, so I feel like I can copy a lot of the outfits that she wears, too. Check out her blog, Outfit Posts HERE

  1. Happy Friday! Hope you enjoy your last few days...:) I've been blogging since 2008, and its so funny to see my progression of who I have followed over those years. It started with home decor/DIY and food bloggers when I styed home, and now its lifestyle/clothes blogs lol! I too love Megan's style! I also love Mel's Kitchen Cafe, her recipes are easy and amazing! Try her tacos, you will never buy a packet of seasoning again, lol! Have a great weekend!

  2. Ahhh, I loved the way Christina @ www.northcarolinacharm.com highlighted her life in the blog for family and thought - yep I wanna do that. The crazy part is after reading her blog for a couple weeks I realized her mother-in-law used to be my mother's assistant in her classroom - SMALL WORLD! She really inspired me though. From one non Nordstrom girl to another - HAPPY WEEKEND! Savor it, sweetie! I hope to play blog catch up after I finish my project LOL! Add me on Snap if you have it. I show more there than IG! XOXOXOX

    1. I love MK at Outfit Posts- she's been really busy with work, but I can definitely always peruse her old stuff too for ideas. Have a great weekend!

  5. I read Mel and Megan but never checked out the other ladies. I'll def give them a read. I don't know who inspired me to blog. I think it was a mix of 1) wanting a place to store all of the little day to day memories 2) wanting a new project and 3) reading other blogs and thinking "I can do that too!". Have a great weekend!

    1. I'm glad you're blogging and that I found yours! I hope the internet still exists in 10 - 20 years so my kids can look back at our pictures and stories!

  6. Oh I always love finding new bloggers! I got hooked a few years ago by some mommy bloggers, Little Baby Garvin and PB&J Babes, but my collection that I follow has evolved and grown so much!

    1. I agree- my collection has definitely changed a lot over the years, and after reading the way some bloggers handle certain comments or topics, I've jumped ship or don't check them out as often. The people who do a whole lot of c/o stuff kind of don't hold my interest as much anymore.

  7. I love the Larson Lingo too and hope maybe someday I'll meet Mel. She lives about an hour from where we live. I also read Honey We're Home. (I'm wondering if the ones you've ditched in are the same ones I'm kinda feeling that way about. More because no matter how many times you comment on their blogs you never get a response or any love in return😢) I'll have to check out your other favs. Enjoy your weekend before you start back to reality.😊

    1. Amen to everything you just said! Okay, so I'm trying something new only because I finally understand it- I'm replying to comments in email form and then copying and pasting my reply to post on the blog too. Some bloggers only reply in email and others only on the site, so I'm going to try both and see if that's do-able. I always like to see the blogger's response to reader comments. Don't follow that baby onto the airplane home this weekend, Ms. Lisa! :)
