Show & Tell Tuesday: Top 5 Pictures

Hi! Thanks for joining me today as I link-up with Andrea at Momfessionals for Show and Tell Tuesday! Today, it's all about our top 5 pictures. Of course I have plenty more than 5 favorite pictures, but the last decade of my life has been the best yet, so all of my pictures are fairly recent. Here goes!

Robert and I got married on June 21, 2008 in his hometown at his Memaw's house. While I love my husband and cherish our wedding day, my favorite picture from our wedding is actually this one of me with my Nana and Popo. To be able to have them both there to celebrate with me was so special, and I think you can see in this picture how much their love made me happy. They always called me "Miss Al," and I can hear my Nana's Wisconsin accent still to this day. My Popo passed away less than a year after my wedding, and my Nana passed a few years after that. I will forever treasure this picture of the three of us. (Also, can we talk about how cute and fashionable they were? Our wedding colors were pink, lime, and black, and I never asked them to dress the theme, they just did because they were absolutely adorable!)

I posted this picture on Instagram a while back, and it's my favorite picture of both of my kids as babies. I love that Trip has on the pajama pants to a set in his picture, and Ari has the pajama top to the set on in her picture! Both pictures were also taken in beds at their great-grandmothers' homes- Trip at Nana's and Ari at Memaw's. I'm not a big baby person, but I could just eat these two up!

This is my favorite picture of my oldest monkey, Trip! Robert took this last year at the very beginning of summer. I love how this picture shows my Doodle's spirit and love for the pool and being outside!

This is my favorite picture of my littlest monkey, Ari. I usually do a whole big photo collage to post on Facebook for each of my people's birthdays, but this past year, I felt that this one picture spoke volumes about my Roo's personality.

This is my favorite picture of the two of my babies together. It was Trip's last day of kindergarten, and Ari and I were out early that year, so we got to walk him to school. They're best buddies, even on the worst days, and I always say they sound like partners from a cop show- Doodle & Roo!

Ok, so now you have me feeling bad that I didn't post a single picture of Robert, so I'll leave you with a vintage 2008 one that basically sums us up:

Obviously it's not my FAVORITE picture of us, but as you can see, we have a fun love! (And obviously, I'm irresistible, duh!) Okay, okay! This one is probably more of a favorite from our wedding rehearsal:

  2. The pic of your hubby and you with the face licking - that is pretty much my husband and I summed up too! LOL Of course your babies are beautiful!!! My heart just pangs when I see the one of you and your grandparents. I was missing my Mammaw at my wedding (she died two years prior) and it was the hardest experience. I had a candle lit at the entry way of the church with her corsage next to it. Still to this day (and as I type this) I just miss her so badly. I wanted her there. But sometimes we want what isn't in the plans. Wow I got off on a tangent!!! This post made my heart smile! XO MISS AL!

    1. Thanks, Laura! I love it so much and will treasure it always! I have a picture of them on a date when they were young, and that was the only thing I wanted from their home when they passed. Those pictures bring back the great memories, and that's what is most valuable.

  6. Awww, such cute pictures!!! Trip and Ari look so much alike as babies!!! (and I think if Trip had more hair you'd see it more now too..) They are both so cute😍. You're right about your grandparents being cute. I love that they dressed to match your wedding without being asked. Precious. The picture of Trip and Ari on his last day of kindergarten made me wish I'd included one of my monkeys both hugging a big beam at the pool one summer. (Katie of course had a bow in her hair even at the pool) It's fun to take a sentimental journey!!!❤️

    1. The kids' baby pictures are indistinguishable at times- Ari actually now resembles my Nana and a little bit of Robert's Memaw, and her mannerisms are all Nana, so it's nice to have a piece of her still with me. Ari has been requesting bows and ribbons a lot lately, but I don't think they'll make it into the pool- although swimming starts next week!

    1. Thank you, Mackensey! I'll never forget that my Nana came to Houston to meet my niece in the hospital, and she stopped at the hospital gift shop to buy a trendy bubble top, and she wore that top everywhere! They were the cutest- Po wore pink all the time, too!

    1. They did look so similar when they were babies, and the worst part was that only ONE person has EVER said that they look anything like me! Oh well, they get their awesome personalities from me, right?! :)
