Tuesday Training: Week 14


Happy Tuesday, my fit friends! Ari recently asked me why I hadn't done a yoga video in a while, and I guess it's because cardio and strength training usually help me out in the weight loss department more than yoga. But- I'm glad my 5 year old mentioned this to me because it is important to add in some yoga and stretch out every week, too! (Is it sad that she kills boat way better than I can?!)

So for today, I'm sharing a 10 minute yoga video that helps lengthen and strengthen but also helps with the core: Yoga Core Workout

  1. I LOVE yoga and stretching but I agree that although it tones, it doesn't do much by way of weight loss for me.

  2. Love a good yoga sesh! I just don't do them much anymore for the reason you mentioned. I can offer this - if any of your readers are dealing with arthritic backs then pilates will help alleviate a great deal of pain!!! XO

    1. I actually took pilates in college for a summer course because we had to have a PE credit. It was so tough!

    1. I really need to get better at doing it more- I've made my focus so much about cardio and weights lately! Maybe if I switch it up, I'll magically lose 5 pounds! :)

  6. I LOVE yoga. I take a class once a week and try to practice at least three other times a week. The boat pose KILLS me every time! Hahahaha!

    1. I'm a pro at the corpse pose! Ha! I just have a really hard time finding my center- I think my bones are in the wrong spot!

  7. How about that Ari! I love that. Too funny you'd pick yoga today. I just went to your workout board the other day looking for a yoga workout. (I wanted about a 30 minute one though) Now here's the surprising part...I got sidetracked and never got to do any yoga. SHOCKING!😉 (I had already done 45 min of cardio though) Have a great day!

    1. I'm going to have some 30 minute videos coming up, but with my schedule, I try to just do 2 10 minute videos on a workday- too exhausted to do much more than that!

  8. I definitely need some help with my core and traditional crunches just aren't cutting it. I will check this out!

    1. I agree- I was doing a new abs challenge, and the crunches were good but the planking was driving me nuts and not helping me much.

  9. 10 minute yoga video sounds perfect! I wasn't a huge yoga person until we went to Mexico last summer. I loved our instructor, and you sure couldn't beat doing yoga right on the ocean!!

    1. I love all of the Popsugar videos because breaking a workout down into 10 minutes is something I can realistically do and then still feel okay to do another 10 minute video after.
