Life With the Lees: Weekend Recap 5.1.17

Hello Monday! After a crazy weekend of kids' activities, I'm almost happy to be back to our regular work week schedule. Allergies hit me hard at the end of the week, and I tried to sleep in a bit on Saturday, but a certain child of mine showed up in my room and asked me to wake up and read about horses.

After Ari's baseball game, we hit up Dunkin Donuts. I need to remind myself that their donuts really aren't that great and that we need to go somewhere else, but I knew it was cheap and quick, plus my kids aren't donut snobs like me just yet.

We had time trials for swim team, and they're run like an actual meet. Ari made it across the pool for both freestyle and backstroke without the helpers having to intervene. She cracked everyone up though because she smiled the whole way down the pool after spotting us and kept looking at us while swimming! Trip had to race 4 times now that he moved up to the next age group. He has had a lot of fun learning the new strokes, and I felt bad that I had to leave him before he was done.

The pictures are blurry but that's because this thing wouldn't stop jumping at her friend's birthday party! You'd think she would have crashed after baseball and swim team, but she kept on going!

The movie of the night was Secretariat. If you haven't seen it yet, it's a pretty neat story and a fun cast!

Going through the mail yesterday, I learned that 31 now qualifies you for the senior citizen discount for some things! You know, because I'm so interested in flashbacking to my life in the '40s and '50s!

We don't have anything too crazy going on this week which is great! If you're a teacher, thank you for all that you do for our students, and I hope you have a great teacher appreciation week and are spoiled rotten! See you back here tomorrow for another round of Tuesday Training!

  1. I'd prefer somewhere else other than Dunkin Donuts too but at the end of the day, a donut is a donut. Happy Teacher Appreciation week!

    1. I liked the idea of the one I got- chocolate caramel pretzel, but I think they should have done it on a glazed donut instead of a chocolate cake one. Happy Monday!

  3. So true about Dunks donuts- my girls haven't caught on yet either- sometimes it is just the easiest stop especially when we are in "survival mode" :)

    1. I don't drink coffee, but I know Robert loves their coffee. I guess a lot of people are in survival mode because they do fairly well!

    1. We have a great chain called Shipley's here in Texas- the only problem is they are expensive and the lines are long. Krispy Kremes are good at first and then I always feel like heck later and pay for it! Hope you're back to blogland soon!

  5. I'm a donut snob too, but after seeing those I want one. It's just the cutest when your little swimmer is so busy smiling at you she's about to drown from drinking half the pool... AND...bumping into the lane lines during backstroke❤️, so cute!!! Looks like a great weekend and too bad you can't bottle some of Ari's energy! You'd be rich. Happy Teacher Appreciation and I hope YOU get spoiled!!!

    1. She got out of the pool and asked, "Did I beat the other kids!?" Yea, about that...no because you're smiling and putting on a show, kid! I think our PTA moved our teacher appreciation week to another week now! Hoping for some chocolate and croissants this year!
