Life With the Lees: Weekend Recap 5.15.17

Hi everyone! I'm so sorry for the delayed response to comments this past week- it was quite a week to say the least, and I'll have more info to share about that in another week or so! All good stuff, just busy stuff!

On Friday, Ari came home with a plant and art project with the following information:

Trip had the same preschool teacher, so I found his card from a few years ago and had to laugh at the differences:

We had to be up and out of the house by 6:30 on Saturday for the first real swim meet of the season. I was the tent mom for Trip's age group, so I grabbed a snap with my best girl before she went off to her group.

Following in her brother's footsteps, Ari shaved off about 30 seconds of her time in both freestyle and backstroke!

Trip swam hard and is working on his new strokes in his new age group.

I was completely wiped out after 7+ hours at the pool, but these two had smiles on their faces the whole time!

I multi-tasked and baked up some macadamia nut white chocolate chip cookie bars and baked nachos with leftover taco meat.

Robert also finished Ari's stuffed animal zoo, and it was just the right size!

I laid around and did my weekend chores yesterday and caught up on some sleep since we had missed out on a lot of it due to the swim meet. Just 2 more weeks of school for the boys and 3 more for the girls 'til summer! This is the first summer in a long time that I won't be working at all, and I can't wait to relax!

Make sure you link up with us this Thursday to share your plans for Memorial Day or tell us how you kick off summer in your house!

See you back here tomorrow for the 20th week of Tuesday Training! See you soon!

    1. I only had a bite because I don't like nuts or white chocolate, but they got gobbled up pretty quickly!

  2. I'm so impressed by your kids' swimming. They seem so serious about it. My kids love the pool and have taken lessons (for forever) and have only mastered the doggy paddle. Hope you had a nice Mother's Day!

    1. They'll get there! I think being on the team really improved both of their abilities. Maybe since there is an end goal for them?

  3. Ari won her heat?! That's so exciting!!! Do they get lollipops too? Ours always got a tootsie pop. I loved being the lollipop mom, but it was also a little stressful when the races were tight😁. Love her stuffed animal zoo...great idea. I'm so happy that you are going to be able to totally just be a mom this summer. That is going to be so wonderful and I'm dying to hear all about the "good, busy, stuff". Oh and their Mother's Day musings were a hoot. You are so tall and thin😉 and just what is it like to have a child that follows directions All.the.time?😂 Happy Monday!

    1. No lollipops- our swim league is super uptight. When I was a kid, you always got ribbons based on heat, not for overall performance, so to win 1st place, you have to beat 15+ kids to truly "win." I am really enjoying being so tall and thin! It's like the donuts and nachos have only improved my appearance!

  4. How cute are those little swimmers! How fun. And okay baked nachos are our absolute favorite-SO GOOD. It took us years to figure out that baking is the way to get them so good and crispy ;-)

    1. I actually prefer processed Velveeta nachos, but I'll take baked nachos in a pinch! :)

  5. You have some great little swimmers already! Man! We are putting our kiddos in swim lessons this summer (second year for Jacob and first year for Olivia) so I'm hoping we'll have some good little swimmers soon, too!

    1. It is so nice knowing that both of my kids can swim now without jackets. Ari still wears hers at times if we're sitting out and watching, but she is so much stronger with lessons and starting the team.

    1. They're pretty awesome and super easy when you're in a pinch! I'm never volunteering to be tent mom for my son's age group ever again! It was traumatic!

  8. How cute is the typed info your daughter wrote about you! It's always interesting to hear how little ones perceive age, height, weight, etc. What a great mom supporting your kids all day Saturday! I hope you had a great day Sunday!

    1. If only what they believed was real! We just had an amazing catered lunch at school with fajitas and queso, and there's no way that I'm close to 60 pounds! :)

    1. Ha! We had a catered lunch from Escalante's on Tuesday, complete with Tres Leches and then bundt cakes from Nothing Bundt Cakes yesterday- I think I need to eat huge lunches with dessert from now on because it kept me snack-free the rest of the day 'til dinner!
