Last Sunday, I did some magazine reading and spied this cute dress from Old Navy. It wasn't available online that night, so I snapped a picture to remember it when it eventually came out.
The kids spent Monday morning with my parents so that Robert could help me move into my new classroom. We woke up to a monsoon, but Robert pushed us through and got all of my boxes moved in (and out of our bedroom- hallelujah!)
While it rained cats and dogs in Houston, the kids were soaking up the sun and some waves in Galveston with my parents.
Someone busted out the dinosaurs and had a brachiosaurus parade.
With the rain never ending in Houston, my in-home stylist asked to try some new 'dos on me.
And I didn't get out of my jammies until noon on Tuesday! It was nice!
While Trip played at a friend's house, Ari asked to watch Peter Pan. I think it is so funny how she loves the old school Disney movies- think Dumbo, Bambi, and Lady and the Tramp.
After sharing that I wanted to try the frozen lemonade from Sonic, we stopped by for their happy hour. I was super unimpressed, but I think I've just hit a point in my life where I don't like snowcones and syrupy drinks.
I checked back with Old Navy and scored the dress I was looking for at 30% off and saw that it came in a cornflower blue shade as well! I ordered both, and I'll report back with what I keep!
On Wednesday, everyone was about cartwheels!
Trip finally let me take a picture! He really likes to get out a circuit project kit that his friend gave him for his birthday a few years ago.
I finally stopped procrastinating and made some coasters out of tiles to protect our new table.
I know she doesn't NEED it, but I couldn't pass up a horse breeds shirt for $5 for the Roo!
We celebrated one last day of freedom by heading to Drew's Pastry Place and ate our weight in cannoli cake and tiramisu!
Ari came home and organized her horses and dolls. There's definitely NO hoarding going on here...
I made a yummy sheet pan flank steak for dinner! Who doesn't love an easy dinner with an easier cleanup?
I headed into a full day of work on Friday. After dinner that night, we relaxed and watched She's The Man.
Texas had tax-free shopping this weekend, so we stayed home and did a whole lot of stable building for horses.
The kids helped me purge our bookshelves on Saturday. We found some treasures that still need to be read, and we're excited to turn our old books and movies into cash (or more books if we're being honest!)
Our local grocery store has a magazine that I picked up at my back to school event, and I liked a lot of these ideas for weekend lunches. I may be the queen of meal planning, but I definitely struggle with weekend lunches.
We hit up the pool a few more times and then packed up the kids to head down to the ranch for the week with their Lea-Lea while we head into professional development days. I hope that you have a great week back to work or a great week continuing to enjoy your summer! I'll see you here tomorrow for a double post day! See you soon!
